Joan Didion

Joan Didion (1934–2021) was an American journalist, essayist, and novelist widely regarded as one of the defining prose stylists of the 20th century. Her work, including Slouching Towards Bethlehem and Play It As It Lays, established her as a chronicler of American anxiety and personal dislocation.
