Frank Herbert

Frank Herbert (1920–1986) was an American science fiction author best known for the Dune saga. A former journalist and ecology enthusiast, Herbert spent years researching desert ecosystems before writing Dune, which became one of the best-selling science fiction novels in history and won both the Hugo and Nebula Awards.
