Oliver Sacks (1933–2015) was a British neurologist and author whose case-study books brought the complexity of the human brain to a mass audience with extraordinary empathy and literary grace. His works include Awakenings, An Anthropologist on Mars, and his posthumous memoir On the Move. He was a professor of neurology at NYU and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
