Octavia E. Butler

Octavia E. Butler (1947–2006) was a groundbreaking American science fiction writer and the first SF author to receive the MacArthur 'Genius' Fellowship. Her work centres on themes of race, gender, power, and evolution. She remains one of the most influential voices in speculative fiction.
